Everyone knows the go-to dish for the Bangkok summer is khao chae, a jasmine-scented ice-cold water dish that gives us all an escape from the heat. Marriott Bonvoy has launched a series of promotions to cool this city down.

Down by the Chao Phraya, The Siam Tea Room is putting on a khao chae feast complete with a welcome lychee drink. Also on the riverside, the Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel’s Thara Thong is featuring khao chae for an al fresco treat.

Heading downtown to Sukhumvit, Chef Tang Tananton Bunnag at the Bangkok Baking Company will pair the classic cooling dish with handcrafted condiments. Bistro M will have khao chae on offer, and 57 Street will feature a set menu through Songkran.

At The House of Smooth Curry at the Athenee Hotel off Witthayu Road, they’ll be using organic rice from Amnat Charoen farmers, and at Flavors, Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel, the khao chae will come from a dedicated live station at the seafood buffet.

For those needing khao chae for their Songkran fix, from Apr 11-15, MoMo Café and Chon Som All Day Dining by the airport will be featuring a special khao chae selection, and, for those of you in Silom, The Lobby Lounge at Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse, will serve khao chae with six condiments.
