Long established Italian riverside venue Ciao (Mandarin Oriental, 48 Oriental Avenue, 02-659-9000) recently revamped its menu to offer more dining styles. Sit at the bar and sample the signature cocktails and fine Italian wines while ordering spuntino (Italian tapas) or opt for the a la carte restaurant where chef Luca Casini draws from his extensive knowledge of European and Asian cuisine to offer such dishes as cosa di vure alla vaccinara (braised ox tail vaccinara with lentil stew, B690). Alternatively, reserve a place at the chef’s table to sample the Tuscan native’s eight-course set menu with wine pairing by an award-winning sommelier.
