The brand behind the “freakshake” trend just launched a new, healthier summer menu

Australia’s Instagram-baiting cafe and creator of the famous “freakshake” trend (monstrous milkshakes piled high with ice cream and dessert toppings) just launched some new, healthy seasonal specials for summer to help reverse whatever delicious artery damage you might have suffered from one of their flagship shakes.

First, the light and healthy stuff. There are two mains to get some quality clean eating done. The Simple Summer Quinoa comes with a juicy roasted chicken thigh topped with fresh cherry tomatoes, creamy avocado slices and salty dabs of feta cheese to balance things out—all sitting on a bed of high protein-rich quinoa. If pasta is more your thing, grab the Flying Fish Pasta. It’s basically a twist on the impossible-to-pronounce spaghetti aglio e olio (spaghetti with garlic and chilies) with a medley of grilled salmon and prawns added in for some extra oomph.

This is Patissez, though. Of course there are going to be all kinds of sweet things to eat. We wouldn’t call these “healthy” per se, but they still feel a bit cleaner than what you would normally find on a dessert menu. The specials make locally sourced summer fruits shine. Some of the must-tries include the mango and peach waffles, the banana pie waffle (which comes with a dollop of ice cream and cocoa powder on top), and the triple coconut waffle. If you want a fruit overdose, go with the flagship Summer Waffle, a fresh-made waffle topped with vanilla soft-serve and a massive mix of fresh fruit—strawberries, bananas, kiwis, passion fruits, mangoes, peaches, and blackberries.

The freakshakes might be the main attraction here (and deserve to be), but Patissez’s new summer menu is a nice change of pace.

3/F CentralWorld, 095-8697396. Open daily 10am-10pm BTS Chidlom
