If you've got any more holiday leave—and we don’t—you might want to stop by Hua Hin’s seaside restaurant Som’s Table for new must-try dishes to start off the New Year.

Opened amidst the pandemic lockdown in 2019, chef Jutamas “Som” Theantae, a former head chef of Karmakamet Conveyance and familiar name on the Bangkok dining scene, revisited her roots with her carte blanche restaurant, promising accessible and intimate European delights through her rotating a la carte dishes.

Start off your meal with her eggplant caviar and parmesan cheese (B890), which arrives with a jiggling poached egg you can pop to meld all the flavors together. The Indian-Chinese chow mein is simply delicious with its fiery, pungent sauce and satisfying crunch from the spring rolls. Those arriving in large groups can go for Khao Tao’s seafood platter, featuring freshly caught seafood delicacies from local fishermen, ranging from plump sea prawns and squids to deep-fried oysters. Though not technically from her new menu, her crispy-skinned roast lemon chicken (B1,290) is a must-try dish.
