Three down, 11 to go.

You might already know Bread Street Kitchen from the space at EmSphere, and now the folks over the river are getting a try—this time with a visit from the man himself, Gordon Ramsay.

Gordon Ramsay visited Thailand yesterday for the opening of the second Bread Street Kitchen and to meet with staff at the new IconSiam branch, which opened its door three weeks ago.

Bread Street Kitchen has served classic European cuisine with cocktails and wine since 2011, and it opened its first iteration in Thailand at EmSphere in 2023.

The chef posted a photo of himself on Instagram after arriving in Bangkok eating pad thai from Thipsamai, saying, “I think we know what happened last time I was near Pad Thai”—a nod to the “F-Word” show where he famously made a mess of pad thai and got a taste of his own medicine from the head chef of the Blue Elephant.

As for what to expect from the new restaurant, which was announced in September, the new venue opens to a large, stylish  bar and is a 600 sqm dining space that hosts 180 seats, a terrace overlooking the Chao Phraya river, and private rooms for all the tourists and mall-goers.

The face behind the likes of “Hell’s Kitchen” and “Kitchen Nightmares”, the celebrity chef is a famed the world over as an entrepreneur and a man who popularized verbally abusing employees as long as slow piano music plays to show they’ve grown emotionally.

In 2023 it was announced that Gordon Ramsay would be opening 14 new restaurants across Thailand, the first two being Street Pizza and Bread Street Kitchen at EmSphere, so this location leaves 11 yet to be opened.

The new menu items announced last year included mushroom soup with creme fraiche, pork ribs, and black forest cheesecake. This second location will be the flagship for the brand, so this one will be the space to keep an eye on for promotions and menu changes.
