For years, Enoteca has been among the top of Bangkok’s Italian restaurant pile for all the right reasons: delicate food bursting with traditional Italian flavors, a rustic dining room, huge wine list and personable service. The set menus here start at four to five courses (B1,790 and B1,990, respectively) and up to the gourmet-experience seven course meal (2,900). You can still opt for the a la carte menu and grab some classic pastas like the homemade fettuccine with ricotta cheese, sausages and black truffles (B590) or the aromatic and flavor-packed foie gras ravioli served in a black truffle sauce (B690).

While you’ll still find some of Europe’s most-prized beef cuts dry-aging in showpiece chiller, Il Fumo has moved from upmarket steakhouse to purveyor of fine-dining. The tasting menu includes the five-course essencia (B2,500), seven-course viajante (B2,700) and a beef tasting menu (B3,200), which includes premium Australian wagyu striploin without the normal B500 additional charge. As expected, you can order pasta a la carte as well. We reccomend the fresh tagliolini with in-season Tasmanian winter truffle (B1,290)—a delicious combination of silky pasta ribbons and aromatic truffles.

Here, you can forget the classic carbonara or bolognese and go for something more creative like homemade tagliolini with brittle prawns, lemon and aromatic breadcrumbs (B350), orecchiette with pork sausage in saffron sauce (B350) and the crunchy handmade raviolacci (B390) with a flavorful beef filling and marsala sauce. Don’t forget to have the no-eggs pistachio tiramisu (B290) to end your meal on the right note.

Operated by Sardinian chef Andrea Ortu, this Italian fine dining venue still lives up to expectations from the authenticity of its food to classy ambience. Order the porcini mushroom ravioli with wild truffle and mushroom cream sauce (B520) which—unlike most places where ravioli swims in the sauce—you’ll find pasta pieces to be almost dry but bursting with flavors. Another great is option is homemade pappardelle in wild boar ragu sauce and topped with almonds and Pecorino Toscano cheese (B490).

Tastefully twee in eye-popping aquamarine, Thonglor’s La Dotta looks like a '50s Italian diner as seen through the eyes of Wes Anderson. It's not only the style that keeps us around, but the dedication to authentic pastas like the carbonara (B360), which is creamy—even though there’s no cream!—and punctuated by the salty tang of Pecorino Romano. Limoncello is not just good at making authentic pizzas like the glorious ai quattro formaggi (mozzarella, scamorza, gorgonzola and parmesan cheese) but also presides over pasta dishes with authentic flavors.
