In a modern and minimal setting, this casual diner serves healthier takes on hearty Western and Eastern dishes all day long. Quinoa, avocado, spirulina, flaxseed, acai berry and chia seed dominate the menu in dishes like tom yum fried rice with quinoa, the acai smoothie bowl topped with house-made granola or the Reuben sandwich.
6/9 Sukhumvit Soi 39, 083-656-6141. Open daily 9am-6pm
Set in a 70-year-old wooden house dating back to the Rama 7 era, this Yenakart neighborhood favorite wows you from first glance. The menu features various avo-toast options along with some solid pizza (get the chorizo and Portobello mushroom) and a damn fine dish of mussels in sherry wine. The coffee highlights two house signature blends: Artisan (Thai, Colombia and Guatemala) and Craftsman (Thai, Brazil and Ethiopia).
Yarden Yenakart, 30 Yen Akat Rd., 02-249-0180. Open daily 7am-7pm
Dangling terrariums, minty hues and sweeping communal tables mark out Gismo as one of those all-day, come-for-breakfast-and-stay-till-lunch kind of places. The menu covers the likes of rocket salad with Parma ham, barbecue chicken with avocado, spaghetti aglio e olio with chorizo and pan-seared snapper with ratatouille and lemon butter sauce. To drink, they offer coffee, juices and cocktails.

Formerly of Sukhumvit Soi 49, this cafe relocated to Tha Maharaj riverside mall recently, bringing all its Brooklyn-referencing charm along with it. Begin your day of Old Town strolling with a stack of banana pancakes drowned in syrup, or go for a plate of eggs, pancakes and sausages cooked a la minute behind the small kitchen counter. Or drop by at lunch for pasta and pulled pork burgers

This branch of the Australian grocery store combines a restaurant, coffee shop and gourmet retail zone into one outlet. On top of freshly prepared meals and gourmet retail products not available elsewhere in Thailand, Jones the Grocer shines with its grab-and-go food: breads, baguettes, croissants and cakes, charcuterie, cheeses and Australian coffee. The store also carries imported chocolates and wines.

For years, Kuppadeli has been a local go-to place for casual dining—where fancy roasts meet heartfelt cuisine. They are famous for consistently serving up exceptional flat white, along with favorites such as brioche French toast, eggs Benedict, kaprao quinoa and a range of sumptuous cheesecakes.

Two stories of airy daytime-friendly space deal in a familiar combination of egg-focused dishes, prettily poured coffee and cold-pressed juices. Comfort food like fresh pasta and shakshuka sits alongside lightweight muesli bowls and salads. Neighborhood regulars also drop by for the decadent French toast.

Abundant light, warm wood tones, chrome coffee machines and glossy magazines are just as charming as the brunch dishes. The Rocket eggs Benedict is perhaps the best incarnation of this overdone dish we’ve tried in Bangkok: the eggs are perfectly cooked and beautifully complemented by a wonderful rich hollandaise sauce. To be fair, you'll be just as happy with one of the Scandi open-face sandwiches—best enjoyed with a seat at the marble kitchen counter.
