Sukhumvit Soi 38 is about to become a lot quieter. After the news of the upcoming closure of the street food hub, a couple of vendors have already started to move to new locations, and sadly they're all not going to the same place.

One vendor doing the early skedaddle is Bangkok food truck pioneer Daniel Thaiger, which will be moving to its current Sunday location on Sukhumvit Soi 23 (outside Whisgars and Craft) starting Jun 23.

Known across town for its juicy burger patties and delicious buns, Daniel Thaiger—or rather its founder, Mark Falconi—is one of the most popular vendors on the soi, drawing in queues from 5pm on the dot and always selling out before 9pm.

So thanks to Soi 38's sticky situation, now is probably the last time for you to jump straight from BTS Thonglor into a swarm of people basking in that smokey, buttery aroma. And to enjoy your Thaiger burger (B139) or Mr. Steve (B170) in one of the shop-houses with a plate of som tam and a cold Leo.
