Chef Ton’s Le Du Kaan goes deep into the Thai culinary playbook for this special NYE set-menu
Nine courses of classic Thai recipes and one of the best views of the fireworks you can get.
Le Du Kaan, the latest venue from Thailand’s mega-celebrity Chef Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn, is going all out this New Year’s Eve with a special nine-course, locally sourced family-style dinner up high on the 56th floor of The Empire from 7:30pm to 1am—a prime viewing angle for the firework chaos that signals the end of the year.
The one-night-only menu features a range of new dishes from Chef Ton, all following the restaurant’s ethos of sustainable sourcing from Thai farmers and finishing villages. Expect powerful takes on classic favorites, like soft shell crab somtam and pomelo shrimp salads, followed by locally sourced and boldly prepared fish plah (spicy salad), and grilled locally caught seafood, including Phuket lobster, squid, tiger prawns, fish, and oysters. The menu also takes aim at the shore with the likes of Thai Tajima Wagyu bites and duck nam tok, a rare smoked duck dish lathered in a spicy sauce. On the night, you will wrap up the meal with a comforting banana pudding and some other festive desserts.
The nine-course menu and free-flow drinks starts at B19,000/person, bookings can be made via Megatix.
56/F, Empire Tower, Sathorn, 02-407-1654. Open daily 5-10:30pm (dinner), 5pm-1am (rooftop bar).
