It's been a year since Brooklyn's Okonomi opened its first Bangkok branch in Thonglor. The Japanese-style breakfast spot has just found its second home in Central Embassy, starting last week.

Located on the 6th floor, Okonomi will join the mall’s spacious Open House, which already has everything from restaurants to bookstores. Like its sister branch, the venue also embraces ichiju sansai, roughly translated as “one soup, three dishes,” a breakfast staple (although it can be eaten at any time of the day) which strives to balance nutrients in one meal — one soup, a main dish, two side dishes, and rice usually.

One of the new dishes to get excited about is the sake-grilled kamasu (barracuda) served with tamago, pickled vegetables, miso, and Japanese rice with grains.

Okonomi. 6/F Open House. Central Embassy. 1031 Ploenchit Rd. Open daily 10am.
