This Italian restaurant by Britain's biggest celebrity chefs fuses British and Italian cuisines, all served in a comfortable setting free of formalities. In Bangkok, the menu of antipasti, pasta (try the prawn linguine) and pizza mimics the successful formula of branches worldwide. Elsewhere on the menu there's steaks, burgers, fish stew and pan-fried fish-of-the-day—as devised by Oliver and his mentor, Italian chef Gennaro Contaldo.

Chiang Mai's popular salad and steak restaurant Ohkajhu has branched out to Siam Square and is already packed. Known for using fresh veggies from its own organic farm, the restaurant highlights salads: design your own or choose from the likes of spicy tuna salad (B165), a photogenic fruit salad served in a melon shell (B240) or a huge bowl of salmon with grilled tofu, greens and grains (B285). They also serve heartily portioned meat dishes like barbecue spare ribs (B315) and pastas (B125-285). To drink, you can opt for coffee, fresh fruit juices or some smoothies. Do expect a queue, though, just like in Chiang Mai.

Wang Jia Sha presents Shanghainese cuisine in a contemporary style. Originated in 1945, the brand has five branches in Hong Kong and just ventured to Thailand for the first time. The star has to be the xiao long bao, a steamed dumpling that features perfectly cooked thin dough wrapping around the pork filling and soup. On top of that, they also make cute peach-shaped salted egg lava buns. Don't miss the tantan noodles, made with peanut soup, which go well with the breaded fried iberico pork cutlet.
