Bangkok's Michelin-star street-food queen to cook at five-star hotel
Be quick.
Jay Fai, the septuagenarian chef who earned a Michelin star for her classic shop-house restaurant, will take her next-level wok-frying skills to the Sukhothai hotel.
On Aug 6, she'll collaborate with chef Rossarin Sripathum for the one-off Celadon Meets Jay Fai dinner.
Amid a lush garden setting, Jay will show off her restaurant's three most popular dishes, including the renowned omelet bursting with crab meat (watch the video below), alongside some of Celadon's artfully presented Royal Thai-inspired cuisine.
Known for its classic, wok-fried seafood dishes, Old Town restaurant Jay Fai has long caused queues for the high quality of the ingredients which its owner, Auntie Fai, personally selects. Even in her 70s, she still heads the open kitchen every night, cooking up your food a la minute over a fiery wok.
The one-off collaboration is priced at B3,900 per person with a minimum of four people per booking.
Celadon, The Sukhothai, 13/3 Sathorn Rd., 02-344-8888. Reservations: [email protected]
