Craving something fancier than a bowl of porridge in the morning? Here are the top breakfast spots for early birds.
Fuel up with the crepes and some fresh air in the garden. Vanilla Garden just opened their doors early for crepe lovers. Here, they offer six varieties with dishes like crepe with sunny egg or crepe with wasabi prawn roe. Otherwise, their menu includes a few soups and sandwiches.

Run by the people behind the cutesy cafe Buttercup, Tiny Cup Cafe has made itself at home in Thonglor with its vintage vibe adorned with knick-knacks and wooden furniture covered with patterned cushions. The food spans recommended fare like the full English breakfast (B380), featuring Joe Sloane’s sausages, cheese omelette (B200) and egg and chorizo (B170).

Australian coffee chain The Coffee Club, too, offers a Western menu with the all-day breakfast options (from B295) such as egg benedict or poached egg with bacon and avocado. A ubiquitous sight down under, especially in their home state of Queensland, all branches serve up the same specially blended, UTZ-certified coffee from three origins—Colombia, Brazil and India.

We tend to visit Café Tartine for their French sandwiches made with great crusty baguettes and simple but high quality ingredients. Expect classics like eggs benedict (B220) and crepes (B160-180), while you simply must end your meal with the chocolate pumpkin tart (B100)—delicious, even for breakfast.

Long story short, this popular beautiful café’s focus is squarely on pastries and brunch style dishes. The breakfast options range from omelettes (B120) to eggs benedict (B185) to house-made granola served with yoghurt (B110). Since you’re already there, why not take home some sandwiches for your lunch, too, as options like salami-cheese on homemade focaccia (B175) are very tasty.

Chu has just started serving up dinner, but our favorite is still breakfast. The café offers the same fuss-free casual tone of old while the dishes are fresh and made with good-quality ingredients. Try dishes the scrambled eggs with cherry tomato salsa and Joe Sloane’s chorizo (B250) before washing it down with the succulent hot chocolate (B120).

Working with a healthy gluten-free, non-dairy concept, Theera serves up a regularly rotating range of bakery treats, from mouthwatering gingerbread cake with homemade granola (B150) and brownie banoffee and milk crumbs (B100), which you can enjoy along with some organic tea. Breakfast dishes are also a big draw, with selections like whole wheat soy buttermilk waffle with different toppings including chicken and broccoli white sauce (B180). Do try their smoothies, too; they use soy milk and coconut yoghurt instead of dairy products.

Had it with egg benedict? Then this café, owned by the same popular shopping center Plearwan, from Huahin, needs to be on your list. The vintage and industrial hints courtesy of galvanized steel and reclaimed wood don’t detract from a pretty polished feel overall. The food is old-school Thai snacks and breakfast bites such as khai luak (half boiled egg, B40), steamed bread with sungkaya (egg custard, B60) or roast duck in a bun (B110).

As its name says, the restaurant wakes up very early at 6am and you can feast on their breakfast dishes from both of their branches (we’re prefer the stylish décor at Sukhumvit Soi 39). Offering an interesting list of a la carte breakfast dishes, try the smoked salmon scrambled eggs or Thai-style dishes like half-boiled egg with bread served on an old-school tray.

This cafe offers up a French-influenced dining experience. The Parisian-style venue serves dishes like eggs benedict with salmon and zucchini (B260), oeufs en cocotte (eggs in pot with spinach and parma ham) and croque monsieur (B260). There’s also bakery offerings and six choices of coffee using Cafés Richard brand beans starting from B130.
