Another drool-worthy modern Australian restaurant is opening in Singapore
And this one serves duck waffles!
We were sad when Unlisted Collection's exciting, local chef-led French bistronomy place Sorrel closed for a makeover a few weeks ago. But we're over it now that version 2.0 is about to open this weekend at the same location on Boon Tat Street.
Led by husband-wife duo Rishi Naleendra and Manuela Toniolo (who opened the lovely, produce-driven Maca at Tanglin Post Office), Cheek by Jowl is billing itself as modern Australian. The chef team cut their teeth in Sydney at the likes of Tetsuya (also true of Sam Aisbett of the other hot new modern Australian in town, Whitegrass).
Cheek by Jowl is opening on Feb 12, and is doing a big V-day menu on Feb 14. More soon.
In the meantime, here are some photos to get you excited:
Signature duck confit with five-spice caramel and crispy waffles
Wild venison tartare with zucchini and fermented plum
Black olive cake
