American comfort food chain Big Boy hits Bangkok
“Twice as big, twice as good.”
America’s home of the original double-decker hamburger, Big Boy, makes its Thailand debut today following a week of its trademark chubby boy mascot cruising around town in his checkered overalls.
Originally born in California in 1936, the brand is now headquartered in Michigan with franchises scattered around the US and Japan. The Bangkok flagship will serve originals like the Classic Big Boy Burger (two Australian beef patties, American cheese, lettuce and Big Boy sauce; B149/199 for a set), the Famous Slim Jim (layered lean ham, Swiss cheese, tomato, lettuce and special sauce grilled in a sesame seed bun; B199/249 set) and nostalgic smiley potatoes (B69/109), alongside location-specific items like tom yum fried chicken rice bowls (B99) and kai tod nam pla (Thai-style chicken wings; B109/199). Wash it all down with a real ice cream milkshake (all B169), like I Lava You (double chocolate), Tough Cookie (cookies and cream) or It’s a Matcha (matcha mochi).
Available for delivery-only via phone, 095-807-7877 and the soon-to-launch website. Orders over B500 will receive a free Big Boy T-shirt through Jun 30.
