9 perfect power lunch spots in Sathorn-Silom
Business as usual.
Located right in the heart of the bustling Silom Road, Al Saray is a hidden gem in plain sight. It balances a quality-to-price ratio that’s unmatched in the immediate area. The menu spans Lebanese and Indian classics, like velvety butter chicken (B280) and slightly spicy chicken tikka masala (B280). On the Lebanese side of things, you’re looking at the likes of taboule salad, hummus dip, and plenty of freshly grilled meats. We recommend the kebab kashkash (B280), a spicy lamb kebab doused in tomato sauce served with rice, and the extra mixed grilled platter (B1,200) with lamb kofta, lamb skewers, lamb chops, shish tawouk, kebab orfali, chicken kofta, lebanese grilled chicken, chicken wings served with chili pita bread and grilled vegetables.

This downright comforting trattoria looks straight out of an Italian food movie. More important is the pizza pulled from a wood-fired red brick oven: a crust that’s wonderfully crisp yet pillowy, moist but burnt in all the right places; the zing of a good tomato base; bountiful toppings. For your powerful lunch meal, order the pork tenderloin topped with parma ham and cheese (B580) or the parma and stracciatella pizza with parma ham and burrata cheese (B590) to share among friends.

Dating back to the ‘80s, Sorrento is one of the city’s oldest names for Italian food long before everyone became an expert on authenticity. Saving it from closure, Diageo World Class 2015 winner Pongpak “Ton” Sudthipongse and his partners decided to take over the restaurant and their efforts don’t fall short. The weekly rotating lunch sets come in competitive price (B490) and always feature impressive dishes like beef tongue stew, fresh Andaman seabass with meuniere sauce, and capellini with rock lobster.
