Amantee

The smell of freshly baked bread wafts out of this place starting at 7am, which makes for a rewarding trek down the soi to its doors. The creations from Jonathan Valdman and Benoit Fradette involve a long fermentation process and use organic flour and ingredients, resulting in beautiful baguettes (B85) and breads, such as the 100-percent whole rye (B315/kg), poppyseed and fig (B650/kg), and dark chocolate (B55). Don’t forget to nab some black olives, sheep milk cheese and garlic cream (B80) flavors on your way out!

240/12-13 Chan Kao Rd., 02-678-1300. Open Tue-Sun 7am-7pm

Brainwake Café

If you're not drawn to the leafy, Daikanyama-worthy facade of this palatial, you will be by the display of Japanese breads inside. Step inside this glasshouse and choose between yudane walnut bun (B55) and pain au chocolate (B55) to enjoy with coffee. Other good options including the cranberry chocolate bun (B55) with dried cranberries, orange peel and walnut cream cheese (B65), both fluffy and flavorful, and pasteries like the dark chocolate cake (B165).

Conkey’s

Located at 49 Terrace community mall, there is one thing that sets this place apart from Amantee and Maison Jean Phillipes—the unbeatable Aussie staples. Our favorites include the sausage roll (B120) and meat pies (B160) which always run out if you came too late. We’re also partial to the daily-baked crusty baguette (B120), buttery brioche (B380), and the plump meatballs (B150/3pcs), which is perfect for sandwiching between a ciabatta (B150).

49 Terrace, Sukhumvit Soi 49, 083-040-5911. Open Tue-Sun 9am-4pm. BTS Phrom Phong

Holey Artisan

Foodies head here to grab their morning bread fix. Bangladeshi owner Nasirul Alam Porag is something of a fanatic when it comes to sourdough, so consequently his unbleached flour loafs have a deliciously aerated, chewy texture. Be sure to pick up the baguette (B100), sourdough bread (B80) or almond croissant (B120) with mazipan (sweet almond paste) fillings. Other sweeter options include the rich chocolate cake (B140) and carrot cake (B140). They also serve coffee (from B80) and cold-pressed juice (B100).

245/12 Sukhumvit Soi 31, 02-101-1427. Open Tue-Sun 7am-6pm. BTS Asok

Kuppadeli

Step inside this lovely loft-like space with a prominent bar and cooking station for fancy breakfast options made using freshly made sourdough. We like the avocado toast (B265)—a great combination of toasted ciabatta, poached eggs, asparagus, zucchini, confit cherry tomatoes, feta cheese and pumpkin—and the flavorful and creamy salmon eggs benedict (B385) with homemade focaccia bread, smoked salmon, green apples and ricotta cream cheese.

219/1A The Pride, Asoke Towers, Sukhumvit Soi 21, 02-664-2350. Open daily 7am-9pm. MRT Petchaburi

Landhaus

Here, a concrete and steel baking oven turns out fresh breads and pastries made daily ranging from wonderful rye, brown bread (the Florianer, B100) and braided poppy bread (B25) to Austrian classics like cheese breadsticks (B40/each) which is tangy and crisp from slightly burnt cheese, and the cinnamon roll (B40) covered with sprinkles of sugar and cinnamon. Don’t forget to order a piping hot Americano (B60) or a frothy cappuccino (B70) to complete your meal.

18 Phahon Yothin Soi 5, 081-902-9183. Open Tue-Sun 7am-7pm. BTS Ari

Maison Eric Kayser

Here, you can expect a variety of breads, croissants, pastries as well as sandwiches and light meals. Our favorites include the signature Baguette Monge (B80) and almond croissant (B60) topped with sliced almond and icing sugar. You can also hop there on Saturday and Sunday to get the buffet brunch (B457) featuring various options of freshly baked bread, salad, and main dish options like grilled Norwegian salmon, and pan-fried duck breast with red wine sauce.

103 Thonglor Between Soi 3-5, 02-712-9070. Open daily 7:30am-10pm. BTS Thong Lo

Other options include cakes like the millefeuille strawberry (B220) with mango puree and fresh mango slices, and lemon cream tartlet with soft meringue (B155).
