On Wednesday, Asia’s 50 Best released their rankings for the top 51-100 restaurants, including six spots from around Bangkok. This is a drop from last year’s eight, but fingers crossed they are promoted to the 1-50.
The highest ranking restaurant was Gaa, which comes in at no.65. Headed by Garima Arora, the Thonglor space has been a big one for lovers of creative Indian fare, holder of two Michelin stars and the Best Tasting Menu award-winner at Top Tables. It’s a big jump from last year’s ranking of 94.
Next up comes Cote by Mauro Colagreco, the Chao Phraya river space serving elevated Mediterranean fare, ranking at no.75, up from no.93 last year. Known for its impeccable service, the venue was promoted to two Michelin stars in 2024 and began offering lunch last year.
Blue by Alain Ducasse, which recently received top marks for BK Magazine’s list of French restaurants in Bangkok, came in at no.80. Found at IconSiam, this space is known for both its French fare and its views, complete with plush carpets and curved walls that add to the atmosphere.
Following close behind is Wana Yook at no.81, which earned a no.8 spot at BK Magazine’s Top Tables 2024, and it’s down from no.63 last year. This space comes from one of Bangkok’s busiest chefs, Chalee Kader, who opened the downtown Soma last month.
Bo.lan ranked no.98 this year. With the chef couple Duangporn Songvisava and Dylan Jones boasting Bangkok dining royalty status, Bo.lan reopened in 2023 and have maintained their reputation for being innovators in elevating Thai cuisine.
Finally, squeaking in at no.99, is Ms Maria and Mr Singh—the Mexican and Indian fusion space that was a Top Tables Official Selection for Top Tables 2024. This space comes from Gaggan Anand, whose eponymous Gaggan was the only Thailand restaurant to crack the top 10 of the World’s 50 Best last year.
Stay tuned for the Asia’s 50 Best 1-50 announcement, which will take place at an event in Seoul on Mar 25.
