Above Eleven

This bar and restaurant doesn't just have great views of the city going for it, there's also an adventurous menu of Japanese-Peruvian fusion (aka Nikkei) cuisine. Small plates like acebichado rolls (seabass, ika karage, avocado) and skewers of anticucho beef heart are bettered only by the signature cocktails. Note that if you're sitting at the bar you'll have your back to the skyline, so it’s worth booking a table in advance.

Octave Rooftop Bar

The bar’s trendy, but mature vibe is accentuated by striking views from the top floor of Marriott Sukhumvit Hotel. The first level features artistic, sculpture-like sofas and also hosts a full dinner menu. Above is a balcony floor with high tables and a top floor offering a stunning 360-degree views of Bangkok. DJ’s play not-too-loud funky house music to a crowd of young executives and hotel guests drinking cocktails with slight twists. The food is a mix of international bite-size delicacies.

45/F, Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit, 2 Sukhumvit Soi 57, 02-797-0000. Open daily 5pm-2am. BTS Thong Lo

Exclusively for Citi credit card members:

Park Society

With premium dining located on the rooftop, SO Sofitel Bangkok isn’t afraid to tackle serious fine culinary feats with experienced Chef Joost Bijster serving tasting menus of four-to-eight courses that channel “East meets West” dishes with signature techniques. Take in the stunning views of Lumpini Park within a glass-enclosed, contemporary space. There are a lot more reasons to come here than just a few excellent glasses of wine before a night out on Sathorn.

29/F, Sofitel So Bangkok, 2 Sathorn Rd., 02-624-0000. Open daily 6-10:30pm. MRT Lumphini

Red Sky

The 55th-floor view from Centara's rooftop puts this bar in the same league as other high flyers, like Vertigo at the Banyan Tree. Al fresco dining and drinking takes place under a swooping, red-lit arch, while chef Hugo Coudurier's seasonal menus spotlight classic, rich steak dishes. Don't miss the truffle-infused wagyu beef tenderloin Rossini—a menu staple and proven crowd pleaser.

55/F, Centara Grand at CentralWorld, 999/99 Rama 1 Rd., 02-100-6255. Open daily 6-11:30pm. BTS Siam

River Vibe Restaurant & Bar

This venue’s on the shortlist of travelers from around the world for best sunset-viewing spot, which here means a 360-degree panorama above the Chao Phraya River. Lay back on a colorful sofa and take in the cool breeze while relishing Thai staples like the spicy pomelo salad (B150) or the fried barracuda salad with green mango (B200), all made to be flushed down with some Mai Tai.

768 Soi Panirat Road, 02-234-2078. Open daily 7:30am-11pm

Scarlett Wine Bar & Restaurant

This vibrant wine bistro surrounded by glass on the 37th floor of the illustrious Pullman Bangkok Hotel G offers sweeping views of lower Silom and the Chaopraya river. The food begins with light bites such as cold cuts and tapas before moving on to pasta dishes, premium imported steaks and French bistro classics (don't miss the beef tartare). Order a bold cabernet sauvignon, enjoy the view, and spoil yourself with some really well-executed bistro food.

37/F, Pullman Bangkok Hotel G, 188 Silom Rd., Bangkok, 02-238-1991,089-108-8744. Open daily 6pm-1am. BTS Chong Nonsi

Siwilai

The huge outdoor deck at this new complex of restaurants comes alive at night with a live band and Bangkok's beautiful and most well-dressed, who can be found lounging in the beach club-style cabanas sipping on spirit-forward cocktails and Champagne. Peckish? They've got a trendy line of tapas, too, from roast bone marrow and crispy chicken skin to mackerel crudo and anchovy toast.

5/F, Central Embassy, Phloen Chit Rd., 02-160-5631. Open daily 11am-midnight; Fri-Sat 10am-midnight. BTS Phloen Chit

Up & Above Restaurant and Bar

Sitting atop Bangkok’s most high-end Japanese hotel, Up & Above will charm seasoned Japanese booze enthusiasts with its hefty selection of premium bottles, such as Suntory Kakubin, Suntory Yamazaki and Taketsuru Pure Malt. The glistening cityscape backdrop that surrounds the venue each night is nearly worth the price of admission alone, but its tasty a la carte bites and seasonal cocktail menu are what encourage return visits.

24/F, The Okura Prestige Bangkok, 57 Wireless Rd., 02-687-9000. Open daily 7-1am

Exclusively for Citi credit card members:
Get 15% discount on food only for Citi ULTIMA and Citi Prestige (limit 8 people /card /table /sales slip, excluding afternoon tea set and Sunday brunch.  Invalid for group booking and cannot be used in conjunction with other promotions) Today – 31 Oct 18

Vertigo Too

Promising stunning views sixty floors above Bangkok, Banyan Tree Hotel's high-ceiling tapas and cocktail bar is run by Hawaii-native bartender Mitchel Kai Lum. Try his signature creation, The Haole, which consists of white rum, white vermouth, lemon juice and pineapple syrup topped with ginger ale. Away from the drinks, expect an eclectic menu filled with both Western and Thai classic dishes, all to be enjoyed alongside the daily live music performances.

Banyan Tree Hotel, 21/100 South Sathon Rd, Bangkok, 02-679-1200. Open daily 5pm-1am. MRT Lumphini

VOGUE Lounge

The neighborhood’s most luxurious cocktail bar channels ‘20s glamour through plum leathers, acres of brass and art deco-style marble paneling, while outdoors, the air-conditioned, all-stone terrace sits in the midst of downtown Bangkok’s skyscrapers. Make sure you arrive in time for the 5-9pm daily happy hour, when all cocktails—we love the three-year-old Havana rum daiquiri, old fashioned and negroni—standard drinks and wine (B340/glass) comes at two for one.

6/F, Mahanakhon Cube, Narathiwat Ratchanakarin Rd., 02-001-0697. Open daily 5pm-2am. BTS Chong Nonsi
