10 Bangkok restaurants for the meatatarian in you
Steak, steak, steak.
The name pretty much says it all. This is another carnivore’s haven that loads up on all kinds of premium cuts of meat from Australia, Japan and the US — the world’s big three beef producers. The venue has its own, purpose-built coal-fired grill, which they’ve named “Charzilla”, and is used for everything from seafood, to steaks and of course burgers. Speaking of absolute meat lover insanity, the Sexy Cow Meat Platter (B2,550) is a gargantuan, heaping plate of the premium stuff—striplion, tenderloin, ribeye and lamb chops—to help you slip into that oh so nice food coma.
G/F, The Millennia Tower, 62 Langsuan Road, 082-924-4014. Open daily 11am-2:30pm, 6pm-10pm
You might not know of this place yet, but it’s one of the most difficult steakhouses to book in town. The owner started as a humble cloth vendor, who spent his days dreaming of an earlier time when he worked at a shanty restaurant on Khao San. Yearning for something better, he started 35 Dry Aged Beef. The tiny space only fits a handful of people at a time, but that hasn’t stopped customers from lining up to try his cuts of prime beef aged in-house for at least 35 days. Part of what makes this place cool is his commitment to keeping prices reasonable (a 35-day dry aged ribeye for B400?!), when many other restaurants charge outrageous sums for dry-aged meats.
321 Charoenrat Rd., 089-922-6671. Open Mon-Sat 12am-9pm.
This carnivore heaven serves premium steak, tasty tapas bites and cocktails in a deli store concept. An open kitchen, patterned black tiling, pink walls and rattan chairs lend it a swanky yet fun feel. For serious grill dishes, prime cut steaks include Black Angus from Australia's Rangers Valley, oven-baked Chiang Rai chicken and Australian lamb chops. Smaller plates like the platter of jamon Iberico and serrano are perfect to nibble on while sipping on a classic cocktail.
1/4 Sala Daeng Soi 1, 02-033-2709. Open daily 10am-10pm
If it bleeds, you can kill it—and eat it! That’s kind of the vibe we get when we think of The Elephant Butcher & Eatery. Why? Nearly everything to do with meat and seafood is on the menu here. We’re not just talking about your run of the mill cuts of premium Australian wagyu (although you can get that, too), we’re talking Canadian lobsters, sashimi, thick pork chops, tomahawks and all the sides to make you burst at the sides. Best bring a couple of friends on this mission.

Sukhumvit's rusticated steak and rotisserie meats specialist pairs cosmopolitan lounge bar vibes with the comfort of big portions sharing plates and hearty flavors. This one came out of the gates with a bang in 2016 when it opened, and is still a Phrom Phong hotspot for the young and monied. The restaurant’s calling card, and probably what you have seen on social media, are massive tomahawk steaks, Black Angus porterhouse, and now Tajima A4 wagyu. Those will set you back a bit, but as far as meat-loving steak experiences go they are hard to beat.

After running some very successful hotel restaurants, Artur Kluczewski packed up all his secrets and opened this French gourmet steakhouse. It offers tableside carvings of various meats in different preparations, including Australian Black Angus, wagyu, and classic French items. The result is a venue that often outdoes these ingredients thanks to Artur’s sharp eye selecting produce and his personal touch in the kitchen.
