Two food truck festivals to take over Bangkok, starting Thursday
Not one, but two chances to try the city's best food trucks, either in Sathorn or Ratchada.
Kicking off this Thursday, Sathorn Square's first Foodival food festival is the setting for Food Truck in the City, which runs only two days from Mar 19-20, 11am-4pm. Though only a small gathering with five trucks, it's really, really in the center of the city. You can expect burgers from Daniel Thaiger, Japanese katsu curry from Kofuku, Japanese oden (hotpot) from Nak Tom Toon Thailand, pasta from Forkers and cheesesteaks from Full Moon.
Too busy on weekdays? No worries. The simply named Food Truck Festival at Esplanade Ratchadapisek takes place this weekend, Mar 22-25, 4-10pm. On top of the familiar faces Forkers, Full Moon and Nak Tom Toon Thailand, six more trucks will join the action. Look for burgers from Mother Trucker and Maven Surface, tomyam noodles from Rod Tiew, barbecue offerings from Deli-Q, kebabs and slushies from Jungle Juice + Kebabs as well as toast and milk from Dr. Milk. Don't forget you can also shop after your meal at Rod Fai Market 2 (see Bangkok's coolest night markets).
