It's not Valentine's until next Friday, but lonely souls can find company with the stage play Dark Valentine Project (in Thai) or question the world with two experimental films screened this weekend. Also do spare your Sunday to Shop For A Cause at Dusit Thani to raise funds for the Camillian Home.

DARK DRAMA
Two theater troupes, Rhythm of Arts and Maa Mee Peek, present two plays that explore two different emotions: love and pain. Performance in Thai. Reserve for discount tickets (B350) at 084-425-0386..

EXPERIMENTAL VIDS
Not interested in all the latest feature films to hit cinemas? The two screenings this week at Speedy Grandma and BACC should do the trick for you.

Knowledge is Everything (Feb 8)
Liam Morgan and Jan Krogsgaard’s experimental dualscreened film, Knowledge is Everything, is shown via an “organic projector” which means the film never repeats the same pattern, while related works are exhibited in the lobby.

Single-Channel Screening (Feb 8)
Held as part of the Media/Art Kitchen exhibition, the program Landscape and Beyond screens Pathompon Tesprateep’s video "Endless, Nameless," which observes animate and inanimate objects in an high-ranked army officer’s private garden.

JUNGLE JAM

Phatfunk Drum & Bass feat. Ragga Twins and DJ Krucial (Feb 7)
Veteran jungle duo Ragga Twins, comprising MCs Deman Rockers and Flinty Badman, and DJ Krucial from the UK join the drum n’ bass night hosted by Phatfunk collective, DJs Azek, DeLorean, Instinct and Orawan, plus visuals by GorbVisuals. Read our interview with Deman Rockers.

INDIE GIGS

Swim Deep Live in Bangkok (Feb 7)
When asked about politics in music, Austin Williams, frontman of hotly-tipped dream rockers Swim Deep, simply said he’d rather not discuss David Cameron and just let their music do the talking. We think they’ve timed their arrival perfectly. Local indie fans can be sweetly distracted with tracks like “King City” and “She Changes the Weather.” Pre-sale tickets SOLD OUT, 80 tickets available on the door.

Popscene Indie Night (Feb 8)
US synthpop duo Unicorn Domination are joined by Myanmar-based act Bloodsugar Politik and locals The Standards and Deadtown Trash, while DJs spin indie, Britpop and 60s classics.

Everything is Modulating (Feb 7)
It's a mini Stone Free reunion here at the ravey Stereo Bar in Ekkamai, as the the likes of  DJ Dragon, Aerolips, Wednesday, Stylish Nonsense and our new favorite Cut The Crab come together.
