The official Thai edition of the iTunes Store has gone online, which means you can now use locally-issued credit cards to buy music, movies and podcasts.
While Thai citizens have had access to the iTunes Store for a long time already, it's now a lot easier to buy tracks from top international artists as well as a selection of Thai acts on major labels like Sony Music Entertainment or Warner Music Group: think Singular, Stamp, Ben Chalathit and Carabao. And we hope to see the rosters of big local labels like GMM Grammy and RS up soon.
It is expected that the opening will help to reduce digital piracy of music and movie downloads in the country. One song costs US$0.99 (B30), while albums are from US$4.49 (B145).
