This is it, people—BK’s BAD Night Out is entering its final week this year, giving you one last chance to try some of Bangkok's coolest bars for less. Until Nov 30, the cocktail-hopping event will continue its journey across 40 of the city’s top bars—gin joints, hideaways, rooftops and BAD Award-baiting cocktail dens—all offering specially curated menus with three drinks going for a flat rate of B800++.

How does it work?

Each week (Wed-Sat), the selection of bars will change, allowing our readers try some of the cool venues we write about in BK. The event coincides with our annual nightlife showdown: the BAD Awards (you can see last year’s winners here), happening at the end of November.

You’ll have to book in advance through our website. When you arrive at the venue, they will give each member of the booking party three tickets that can be spent on cocktails created for BAD Night Out—you can split between friends, or drink all three yourself (we’re not judging).

Bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

Here are the bars and drinks you can look forward to this week.

WEEK 5 (Nov 27-30)

ABar

On the 37th floor of Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, ABar blends the mystery and magic of Victorian London with the gritty edge of 1930s America, with dark wooden décor, wingback chairs, leather-bound books and a cool jazz soundtrack. Fitting with that theme, ABar specializes in dark spirits, including whiskies from around the globe, dark rum and cognac, many of which are put to good use in vintage and Prohibition era cocktails.

Dumbo Jazz & Vinyl Bar

Inside the fun, laid-back bar Dumbo, an imposing Abraham Lincoln mural holds court over walls that pop with colorful paintings and a concrete rooftop where live bands (Fri-Sat) take stage. Fairy lights and a large red “Dumbo” sign light up the eclectic collection of chairs overlooking the BTS, where guests sip on cocktails like the Dumbo, with bourbon, mint, brown sugar and orange peel.

Honest Mistake

Forget Gatsby vibes—this shady Saphan Khwai speakeasy is all about the Shanghai mafia era. Buy your entry with a bribe before being allowed to ascend to the third floor, where an old-school mahjong table beneath dim lighting creates a secret casino-like feel. Inside, the cocktail bar blends neon red Chinese signs with a 1920s America style and bartenders whip up both Chinese- and Western-inspired cocktails.

Iron Balls Distillery

Love local gin? Then this bar is for you. This is homebase for Ash Sutton’s award-winning Iron Balls gin, a unique blend of local botanicals that goes best with a straight-up G&T. The brand’s latest evolution has yielded Iron Balls Vodka, a straightforward classic with a smooth finish best enjoyed in the vicinity of the bar’s impressive copper stills.

KOI Lounge

This swanky Japanese party lounge combines Koi restaurant and its next-door hotspot, The Club by Koi. The California-born brand’s long, narrow space boasts a sultry ambience with leather upholstered seats and a deeply polished bar. Stop here to sip on the Lychee Rose Martini—a mix of vodka and lychee liqueur—with fusion-y, Japanese comfort food like spicy tuna on crispy rice cakes or wagyu beef with mashed potatoes and fried rice.

The WoodShed

Tucked inside rustic European restaurant Harvest is a new bar with a jazz band and stacked menu boasting craft spirits and cocktails.True to its name, the WoodShed’s ambiance is dark and gloomily potent. A few strings of dim fairy lights give the impression of candlelit outdoors, a look completed by the old, and still living, tree that’s plunked down in the middle of the bar. Check out the glassware collection—each piece was carefully chosen by the owner.

Uncle Tim

The Old Town’s Uncle Tim whips up signature cocktails using herb-infused vodka and Chinese medicinal ingredients—a fitting tribute to the shop-house’s former life as an apothecary. Still owned by the Tim Rueng Vej family, the property is now home to the Tim Mansion hotel upstairs and the third-generation’s latest addition: this throwback bar, where neon red signage and classic movies projecting on the curtains set the scene for Chinese-inspired concoctions.
