The Embassy of Mexico hosts a Mexican film festival showcasing a variety of contemporary works, like Burros directed by Odin Salazar Flores, along with a selection of shorts this Sep 23-24. Admission is free and screenings start at 5pm with English subtitles.

The Embassy of Ireland hosts introduces Irish culture and lifestyle to the screen on Oct 6-8 with three classic films: The Quiet Man (1952), Ryan’s Daughter (1970) and Sing Street (2016) at Bangkok Screening Room. Tickets are B300.

The annual 60 second Film Festival returns this Dec 2. Organizers are currently putting the call out for filmmakers to submit their very short works (not longer than 60 seconds) by Nov 24. For more details visit www.fb.com/the60secondfilmfestival.

 

Founded in 1995, Filmvirus is the non-profit organization behind a slew of underground film festivals under the banner of Wildtype. They’re calling on donations to help its latest experimental showcase, Wildtype Rhizome, launched at the Reading Room in 2016, happen again next year.
