Looks like Banks won’t be returning to Singapore after all
We're stooped down and out
We were particularly excited when Secret Sounds Asia announced that they’re bringing Banks to Singapore for a headlining gig on Jul 11 at Capitol Theatre. The last time she was here, she played the main stage at Laneway Festival two years ago, and many had to make the painful decision between seeing her or Chet Faker, who was performing at Cloud Stage at the same time. Alas, it was just announced that this won’t be happening anymore.
In a Facebook announcement early today (Jun 2), Secret Sounds Asia announced that the gig has been cancelled, with only this official statement: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, BANKS is unable to perform on 11 July in Singapore. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. We apologise for any inconvenience and hope to reschedule as soon as possible."
Guess we won't be able to enjoy her blend of sultry vocals, painfully honest lyrics and dark music production in person anymore. Singapore was slated to be her only stop in Asia, followed by an appearance at Australia's massive Splendour in the Grass music festival at Byron Bay. Tickets for that music festival went out on Apr 6 and was quickly sold out. So unless you have connections there or are willing to take a risk getting scalped tickets, this is your next option.
All ticket holders will be refunded through the same method of payments. If you paid by credit card, refunds will be credited to the same one used for the transaction and will take up to 14 business days. However, if you made payments using cash or NETs, head down to Apac Tix at the Singapore Indoor Stadium with your physical tickets and a photo ID between Jun 5 and Jun 11 for a full refund.
