Go on an outdoor yoga spree in Singapore this month
Let’s hope it doesn’t rain while you’re in the zone.
We’ve seen plenty of outdoor yoga sessions in the past month, but it seems to be trickling well into the new year as well. If you’ve got “getting back in shape” as one of your New Year resolutions down, you’ll want to check out these upcoming outdoor yoga events this month.
Pop-up Yoga is not an unfamiliar name to the scene. This community initiative is all about stretching and mingling with fellow free spirits in the Singapore’s version of the great outdoors. Led by Kathy Gabriel, the class focuses on Hatha Yoga and tickets will be priced at $5 where you can be immersed in nature while sweating out.
You can enjoy the sea breeze and feel the morning sun on your skin while practising yoga as Platinum Yoga organizes a series of sessions where you can expect to learn warm-up sun salutations, pilates, savasana and meditation from various instructors. The first session is held at East Coast Park and admission is free with pre-registration. But bring your own mats, water bottle and hand towels. And if it rains, the class will be conducted at the nearby Marine Parade studio.
If sunrise isn’t for you, then this series of yoga sessions during sunsets organized by Yoga Seeds might be more your cup of tea. Accompanied by our mesmerizing cityscape as it welcomes the night, you can expect a 90 minutes of what they're calling "Sunset Flow". The first session is held at lower board walk at Waterfront Promenade, near City Bay Link Mall exit. Tickets are going for $27 and it is suitable for all levels.
