Vesper launches its long-awaited new menu of Galician art-inspired cocktails

Vesper launches its new cocktail menu, dubbed “The Art Book.” The 14 new drinks are said to take inspiration from Modern Art figureheads such as Pablo Picasso and Rene Magritte and are the result of a nine-month collaboration between bar own Choti Leenutaphong and Diageo World Class Winner Pailin Sajjanit. The new cocktails will be available at B320 each or B900 for three.

This Nov 23-25, the sky-high tapas restaurant of Centara Grand hotel welcomes two Spanish chefs from Michelin-star kitchens back to back next month. Roberto Terradillos heads restaurant El Serbal in Santander, which Michelin called “the gastronomic reference in an area teeming with restaurants.” On Nov 23, he cooks a seven-course dinner at B3,900 plus B1,000 for Spanish wine pairing. The following night, on Nov 24, drop by to taste the seven-course menu of Toni Gonzalez (also B3,900 + B1,000), whose restaurant El Nuevo Molino, also in Santander, serves contemporary tasting menus from a converted chapel. On Nov 25, both chefs join together with Uno Mas’s head chef Joan Tanya Dot for a final seven-course dinner priced at B4,250. Wine pairing on this evening costs an extra B2,000.

Tippling Club in Singapore, Ryan Clift, visits
Vertigo to present a taste of his much-praised food and booze. Opened in 2008, the restaurant is known for its modern, avant-garde cuisine and innovative cocktails. Not only was Tippling Club named no. 31 in this year's Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant list, it also placed no. 12 in the inaugural Asia’s 50 Best Bars list. The British-born chef will present signature dishes like charred and smoked peppers, foie gras with apple, walnut and date, and John Dory with roast cauliflower and masala veloute, plus cocktails said to span sweet, sour, dry, bitter, fruity and smoky. The six-course dinner sets you back B4,900 or B7,700 with wine pairing.

Il Fumo opens its beautiful villa for an afternoon workshop devoted to slabs of delicious steak. Taking place this
Nov 26 from 3pm onwards, the Carnivore 101 workshop sees the restaurant’s chef-partner Luca Appino leading sessions covering the world’s best artisanal beef producers, beef cuts, and the art and science of grilling. At B1,300, you’ll get to sample Il Fumo’s four prized types of beef—Australian wagyu, French Limousin, Spanish Rubia Gallega and Italian Chianina—and attend a family-style alfresco dinner following the workshop. Chef James Sharman’s One Star House Party project sees a team of ex-chefs from Noma in Copenhagen and The Ledbury in London traveling the world to 20 cities in 20 months to organize a week-long pop-up in each place they visit. Their journey started in September, and so far they’ve cooked in Beijing and Ho Chi Minh City. Their next stop: Bangkok. Right now, the chefs are already searching for ingredients somewhere in Thailand to prepare for a series of dinners from Nov 27-Dec 3 at Banyan Tree Bangkok’s outdoor lounge Latitude.

Backstage Cocktail Bar welcomes the co-founder of Fords Gin
This Nov 28, Backstage Cocktail Bar and Bootleggers Trading Company team up to welcome Simon Ford, the co-founder of The 86 Co., which collaborates with some of the world’s best distilleries to create lines of rum, tequila, vodka and, most notably, gin—namely, the cult favorite Fords Gin.
