Just announced today, the annual outdoor music fest institution is confirmed to move to Kaeng Krachan Country Club, Phetchaburi.

After the announcement on One Channel earlier today, fans are already expressing their concerns with the departure from the original venue at Bonanza, Khao Yai. The new location appears to be even further away from Bangkok, without many accommodation options in the vicinity for those not looking to camp overnight on-site.

But the organizers have suggested that the move is in order to cater to a growing audience. The drive to Kaengkrachan Country Club, Phetchaburi, takes roughly about the same time from Bangkok, and is around 40 minutes away from Hua Hin.

This will be the 7th edition of the iconic Big Mountain Music Festival, an annual gatthering of some of the biggest acts across all genres in the Thai music scene, performing across multiple music zones. The lineup for this year is TBA, but some of the acts from last year included: Palmy, Potato, Thaitanium, Sqweez Animal, Aof Pongsak, Scrubb, Apartment Khunpa, Flure, Greasy Cafe, Joey Boy, Inspirative, and Aire.

Another setback this year, is that the fest will clash with this year's Wonderfruit Music Festival (Dec 17-20), this time scheduled to take place on Dec 19-20. This leaves many of the fans wondering--as the official festival poster suggests--how did we get to this point?

Although the fest seems to be more popular among the high school-university crowd nowadays, we still hope that the crew will still be able to pull off another great show.

Tickets will still be B2,000, to be released in October. For the latest updates, see www.bigmountainmusicfestival.com. In the meantime, here's the aftermovie of last year's BMMF6 to bring back some nostalgia.
