Here are all the rooftop bars taking part in Bad Night Out
Sky-high views, rock bottom prices.
BK’s BAD Night Out is finally upon us. From Oct 30-Nov 30, expect five straight weeks of cocktail-hopping at 40 of the city’s top bars—gin joints, hideaways, rooftops and BAD Award-baiting cocktail dens, all offering specially curated menus with three drinks going for a flat rate of B800++.
Each week (Wed-Sat), the selection of bars will change, allowing our readers try some of the cool venues we write about in BK. The event coincides with our annual nightlife showdown: the BAD Awards (you can see last year’s winners here), happening at the end of November.
You’ll have to book in advance through our website. When you arrive at the venue, they will give you three tickets that can be spent on cocktails created for BAD Night Out—you can split between friends, or drink all three yourself (we’re not judging).
Bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
Here are all of the awesome rooftop bars taking part.
Rocking one of the largest selections of gins in the city, with more than 50 different varieties—including many craft labels—ABar Rooftop is the venue of choice for fans of the city’s most on-trend spirit.

This buzzing Sukhumvit bar sits pretty on the 26th floor of the Novotel hotel, offering laidback garden vibes and views of both Sirikit Lake and Benjasiri Park. Take the small staircase up from the 25th floor and you’re greeted by an open-air space filled with a mix of circular couches and low seating in pastel grey tones. The fruity, though not-too-sweet, cocktails come from a line-up of experienced international bartenders. All things considered, this is one of the go-to rooftops in the area.
26/F, Novotel Bangkok Hotel, 19/9 Sukhumvit Soi 20
Thanks to the downtown Yen Akat location, here you get to enjoy views of big trees and low-rise buildings. The bar is half open-air, so you get to enjoy all that greenery, while pretending you’re drinking in summertime Palm Springs, California, surrounded by cacti. Take the stairs up to the rooftop for a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere, where you can chill around the bonfire.
15 Yen Akat Rd., Open Tue-Sun 5pm-2am
Avani Riverside Hotel's 26th-floor rooftop restaurant has transformed into the third global outpost of Portuguese celebrity chef Olivier Da Costa's Seen Restaurant and Bar, which can also be found in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Lisbon, Portugal. Like its predecessor, Attitude, the bar-restaurant shares the top floor with a swimming pool, which helps maximize the impressive river view. Inside, you're greeted by a palate that’s big on black and gold, with bold geometric motifs that give the place a ritzy ‘80s vibe and floor-to-ceiling windows that look out on the city.
26/F, Avani Riverside, Rd.
This concrete rooftop offers a fun, laid-back vibe thanks to its colorful murals and raucous live bands (Fri-Sat). Fairy lights and a large neon red “Dumbo” sign light up the mishmash of chairs overlooking the BTS, as guests sip on San Miguel and cocktails like the Dumbo, with bourbon, mint, brown sugar and orange peel.
490/5 Paholyothin Rd.
This rooftop serves up one of Bangkok’s most stunning sunset scenes—looking straight over Lumphini Park and onto the gleaming skyscrapers of Phloen Chit. Maybe that’s why it’s one of the few spots that attracts a local crowd, one that likes to knock back Champagne and smoke cigars while reposed on the almost-too-comfy scarlet daybeds. Oh, and they give out enough complimentary cashews and olives to make you say, “let’s screw dinner.”
So Sofitel Hotel, 2 North Sathorn Rd.
Sip on botanical cocktails while taking in the Bangkok skyline from one of the best 360-degree vantages in Silom and Sathorn, high up on the 32nd floor of Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse.
32/F, Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse, 262 Surawong Rd., 02-088-5666
This swanky Japanese party lounge combines Koi restaurant and next-door hotspot, The Club by Koi. The California-born brand’s long, narrow space boasts a sultry ambience with leather upholstered seats and a deeply polished bar. Stop here to sip on the Lychee Rose Martini—a mix of vodka and lychee liqueur—with fusion-y, Japanese comfort food like spicy tuna on crispy rice cakes or wagyu beef with mashed potatoes and fried rice.
39/F, Sathorn Square, Narathiwas Rd.
Perched 37 floors above Silom, with river views to boot, this wine bistro combines well-executed French comfort food, chargrilled Aussie steaks and a long, long wine list into one sleek yet affordable package. The charcuterie and cheese platters also come highly recommended—just be sure to book well ahead for a spot on the terrace.

Asoke’s Bangkok Heightz in the Continent Hotel is a 39-story-high under-cover lounge bar with a local flavor. Signature cocktails also play around with a lot of local flavors by leaning on Thai ingredients to develop punchy flavors. The place is cozy, the ceiling low and the vibe dark.
39/F, The Continent Hotel, 413 Sukhumvit Rd.
Move from the indoor lounge to the romantic outdoor seating area, where Thai and international food and delicious cocktails are served with stunning views and a terrace pool.

It might only be six floors up, but there's nothing obstructing the cool, 180-degree views of the neighborhood from a table at Nowhere. It sits atop the Tha City Loft Hotel, a 64-room property with on-trend decor: gray walls, mid-century furniture, fake plants galore. Once up there, you'll be greeted by bare concrete steps in the center of a minimal glass cube courtesy of interior design firm Stu/D/O.
