Conveniently, the beauty of a great vodka is its smooth neutrality. That has made Grey Goose mixologists look into vodka pairings where the suggestive force of perfume can complement the wheat-grain French vodka.
To unveil their findings, an exclusive event took place at St. Regis’ Decanter bar, a suitably decadent, speakeasy-style venue that’s all dark paneling and oversized sofas. Basking in blue neon light, lazing away cocktail in hand on a makeshift bed, were four models wearing close to nothing. “What do I wear in bed?” Marylin Monroe once said. “Why Chanel No. 5, of course.”
We’re happy to report the resulting cocktails are very balanced and subdued, despite the theme. If you were expecting something along the lines of Patrick Suskind’s Das Parfum (where the hero ends up smelling so delicious he is devoured by a mob), you might want to stick to drinking cologne.
