Start the year right with new rooftop bars and live music haunts.

A Bar

We think gin will be the new craft beer for 2018. This open-air rooftop gin bar on the 38th floor of Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park features around 50 labels, and stands above new American-Korean-Japanese restaurant Akira.
38/F, Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, 199 Sukhumvit Soi 22, 02-059-5999. Open daily 5pm-1am

Iron Balls Gin Parlour (Phrom Phong)

Having made a name in Ekkamai, the gin-loving bar is ready for a second location. Located between Quince and Sing Sing Theater, you might well walk past it a few times without realizing it’s there.
Sukhumvit Soi 45 (next to Quince), 063-225-1331. Open Tue-Sun 8pm-1am

NOMA (Now Our Mother’s Angry)

This bar/live music project from a group that includes Kawee Soontornwan of Medium Rare gig organizer (they brought in FKJ, Shura and Alt-J to name a few) takes over the old home of Cosmic Cafe (RIP) on RCA.
21/66 RCA Block C, 080-939-7899. Open Fri-Sun 8pm-2am

The rooftop bar at Park Hyatt

The 37th-floor garden-styled rooftop terrace above the Penthouse Bar + Grill at Park Hyatt looks like an ideal spot to knock back alfresco drinks overlooking Phloen Chit.
34-37/F, Park Hyatt, 88 Wireless Rd., 02-012-1234. Open daily 4:30pm-midnight
