Talad Noi’s raucous live music bar, Soulbar, has found new digs—for the next few months at least—with a pop-up on the ground floor of Silom's Whiteline

To kick things off in style, a relaunch party on Dec 19 will welcome familiar faces The Supergoods, Coco Rouzier and DJs Obba and A from 7pm.

Opened in mid-2014, Soulbar was among the first of a slew of new bar and gallery openings that breathed new life into Charoenkrung's old shop-houses. From the soul band side project of Apartment Khunpa guitarist Pump Jotikasthira (who’s also a partner in the bar) to the languid, psych-charged sounds of the Lowdowns, the bar forged a reputation for its live music that hits the get-up-and-dance gene.

We at BK named Soulbar Bangkok's Best Live Music Venue in our debut B.A.D. nightlife awards in 2017.

The bar bid farewell to its original cramped confines back in August. After a mooted move to a 100-year-old shop-house in the same Charoenkrung neighborhood fell through, Soulbar mk. II will now be calling Silom Soi 8 home for the foreseeable future.

Co-founder Romain Dupuy tells us the decor will be a mix of Soulbar's junkyard chic style and Whiteline's minimalist vibes. As for the lineup, he also promises more "outsider bands" and tribute parties dedicated to specific big-name artists to go with the regular high-energy soul sessions.

Soulbar and Whiteline will also team up for three floors of live music on New Year's Eve.
