You'll just have to get up early. Really early.

We've previously written about how you can see the alignment of five planets from now till Feb 20, and it looks like the Science Centre' observatory is opening on Feb 6 from 5:30-6:30 am, to let people check this cool phenomenon out through its telescope. You don't have to register for this event; just show up earlier to avoid the queues.

This weekend is supposedly the best time to view the alignment as Mercury will be close to the moon and Venus, making it easier to spot. Buildings and trees will block the view of these two smaller planets at the Science Centre, but you'll be able to see Saturn's rings.

The best place to go is still East Coast Park; just remember to bring a telescope with you. Something with 80x magnification, or the Maksutov 90mm model will do the trick.
