Singapore just got a new marshland nature reserve
Take a free tour to see over 170 types of birds, including some endangered ones
It's official; there's another green space in Singapore, even if it's quite out of the way. The Kranji Marshes are now open, and you'll be able to see about 170 types of bird species there. You'll also be able to venture through the area or go on a guided walk by the Nature Society of Singapore (NSS) and NParks.
To check out the wildlife, take a one-kilometer walk along Neo Tiew Lane 2, where you can observe nature in the eponymously named Neo Tiew Woods. There's also a 10-meter tower to check out the marshes from up high. If you're lucky, you may be able to see a straw headed-bulbul, one of the nine endangered birds that can be found there. Some of the shyer birds like the Purple Swamphen and Common Moorhen may peer out, too.
