Singapore Art Fair

Another week and yet another art fair. The first edition of this new event features artwork from countries in the Middle East, North Africa, Asia and Southeast Asia. There are around 100 galleries exhibiting with solo shows from over 20 individual artists. 

4th Rendezvous with French Cinema

The fourth edition of this French film fest has a special tribute to (and special appearance by!) actress Juliette Binoche whose latest movie, Clouds of Sils Maria, is competing for the Palme D’Or in Cannes. There are 16 screenings of movies like comedy Serial (Bad) Weddings and political drama The French Minister

Bill Callahan with Leslie Low

Velvet-voiced veteran American folk singer-songwriter Bill Callahan, who used to perform under the band name Smog, makes his Singapore debut for a one-night only performance. He’ll be focusing on his newest album Have Fun With God, but will undoubtedly perform hits like “Riding For The Feeling” and “Sycamore”. 

Pushin'On ft. Fiber Optik and Pushin'On DJs

Put on your dancing shoes with Fiber Optik’s anthems which mesh 80s disco tunes, funk and boogie together with remixes of bands like Hall & Oates, Rufus & Chaka Khan and Chic. Helming the decks are three Pushin’On DJs Shellsuit, Chunk and Code. 

Lockdown

Hatch Theatrics presents this comical stage drama set in a school classroom where a teacher gets trapped with three students and is forced to confront the realities of the teaching profession. Directed by Raimi Liandy Safari, it stars Shida Mahadi, Farez Najid and Ziyad Bagharib. 

Sindhi Wine Launch

A brand new Spanish wine label debuts in Singapore. The Sindhi 2009 bottle comes from a family vineyard in Murcia, which is considered to be the highest altitude vineyard in Europe. Meet the owners and one of Singapore’s top sommeliers while sipping on free flow wine and Spanish tapas. 

Ubin Day

After more than a decade, Ubin Day returns with the aim of exploring life on the nearby island. Acvitivies include nature walks, cycling tours, traditional Malay cooking classes and a Wayang Kulit performance.
