Having moved to their new home in Ekkamai (12/6 Ekkamai Soi 2, 02-714-3766) and changed names to the Toot Yung Art Center, this popular contemporary gallery space was already offering more in the form of an artist’s residence, a working studio, a workshop, and a boutique store. Now, founder Pierre Wirth and curator Myrtille Tibayrenc are looking to expand further by opening a café that doubles up as a bar on weekend evenings. It already hosted a gig by Belgium’s flamboyant duo Alek et les Japonaises last month, and we can only expect things to get even busier this year.
