There's a new car-free event happening at Keong Saik in March
Yoga workshops, music performances and a street party are just some of the highlights.
Remember the car-free initiative (PARK)ing day, where parking spots become temporary public spaces? Now, the people from Lopelab have organized something similar, called Urban Ventures, an event held in conjunction with Singapore Design Week.
On Mar 12, from 4-10:30pm, there will be lots of programs like yoga workshops (4-5pm) and terrarium making classes (4:30-5:30pm). If those activities aren't your thing, then check out music performances by the Getai Group (6-8:30pm), which include Shak'thiya, Joie Tan, Charlie Blouse and Keith Soo-Tho. DIY geeks can also try their hand at a copper lamp making workshop from 5-7pm for $111. You can register for these workshops here.
There are also art installations and video work by artists from the LASALLE College of the Arts, a foosball game, hammocks to chill out in, and a street party after.
