[Sponsored] As you might have noticed, things are starting to get hot in Singapore. And as the city's shopping belt gears up for the Spring/Summer 2016 season, there is a bit of a tropical vibe in the air, from the racks to the rooftops.

See a dazzling light show

For starters, the 56th floor of ION Orchard is now home to a gorgeous light display. After a big day of shopping, imagine sitting in a glass-enclosed room against the city skyline and watching a rivetting time-lapse of tropical vegetation growing into a thick forest while a white peacock ambles across the scene. That's the Spring Illuminated Light Projection Show between 7:30-9:30pm until May 8 at ION Sky. Just flash a same-day receipt from ION Orchard to get free admission for you and a friend. Just mind the blackout dates listed here.

Flights of Fancy Bird Show

Meet some exotic birds

But if you prefer your tropical flora and fauna alive and breathing, head to ION2 for a Spring/Summer OOTD shot in the garden. Be sure to check out the Spring Sound Garden where you can touch the hanging vines and take in the sounds of the waterfalls and chirping birds. On Saturdays and Sundays, between 4:30-6:30pm, there is the Flights of Fancy Bird Show, where you can meet cockatoos, macaws, parrots and other colorful creatures. Admission is free.

Go on a shopping spree

If you're an ION Orchard fan, pay attention to some of the Spring/Summer deals they have on until May 8. Early risers, this is for you: the first 80 shoppers each day to spend $500 win a $30 shopping voucher. And if you're an ION+ member, the first 80 shoppers weekly to spend $1,500 win a $100 shopping voucher. Scoring your vouchers should be easy, too, since the Spring/Summer collections of all major labels are now available.

Download the ION Orchard mobile app for one-for-one dining deals and free lunchtime parking from Monday-Thursday. For more information, visit the official ION Orchard website.
