Holy moly! We haven't seen such a jam-packed weekend in a while! The Singapore River Festival is on, the Singapore Writers Festival is kicking off with fanfare, there's a fitness festival at St James Power Station, It's the Ship is setting sail, The Projector is doing a Back to the Future back-to-back screening and that isn't even the half of it. It's going to be a very exciting few days in Singapore.

Tightrope performance by Underclouds Cie at Singapore River Festival

EAT
Post-10pm eating just got very exciting with the launch of Moosehead's supper series. For the first edition, they are teaming up with the hipster noodle stall and recipient of the Michelin Guide's Bib Gourmand award, A Noodle Story, for one night at Amoy Street Food Centre. Nov 4

FILM

Opening today, the Singapore Writers Festival has commissioned a feature film comprising four shorts by four directors, in four languages.Titled One Hour to Daylight, the film is set in an estate in present-day Singapore, where social and cultural tensions run high. There’ll also be post-show dialogue sessions with the producers, authors, scriptwriter and director. Nov 4

PARTY
South Korean hip-hop sensation Keith Ape is bringing his sick flow to Canvas Singapore. The 22-year-old got his first break when he released the gritty single “It G Ma” last year. He’s been lauded for his live performances, and even made it into The New York Times' "All The Best Concerts" list. Nov 4

Non-profit coffee movement Cause, Coffee SG returns with a second pop-up at the Boutique Fairs Singapore shopping event, serving up cups of coffee roasted by the people at Two Degrees North Coffee Co. All proceeds will go to Cape of Colours, a local beneficiary that helps underprivileged students. Nov 4-5

Get involved in women's causes in Singapore at this charity pop-up sale featuring a bunch of pre-loved designer clothes. The UN Women Singapore Committee, a non-profit organization that focuses on women empowerment and gender equality is hosting their annual charity event this weekend. Nov 4-6

WELLNESS
The bi-annual Heart Body Mind Festival offers mini workshops on self-improvement and healing, and a variety of vendors that specialize in natural and organic products, alternative therapies, yoga and more. Also, free admission. Nov 4-6

FESTIVAL
Back for its third edition, Asia's second largest electronic dance music festival on board the luxurious Royal Caribbean cruise-liner will set sail for its round trip from Singapore to Penang. It’s The Ship will see more than 60 international and local acts like Sander van Doorn, Knife Party, Shigga Shay and more. Nov 4-7

FESTIVAL

The Singapore River Festival returns with a whole slew of activities and experiences across Clarke Quay, Boat Quay and Robertson Quay, opening with a tightrope performance by French performance group Underclouds Cie. Other highlights include a silent disco, a street carnival, live performances and more. Nov 4-5

See what it's like to be an artist in Singapore, as a few of them open up their artistic spaces to the public. Similar to the Bushwick Open Studios in Brooklyn, New York, the East Side Open Studios will give insight into a range of practices like painting, sculpture, pottery-making and others, and how these local artists create their work. Two respected Singaporean writers Gwee Li Sui and Boey Kim Cheng will discuss Singapore's literary scene as part of the on-going Singapore Writers FestivalNov 5

Ever since Craft Beer Bar Takumi opened at the Mandarin Orchard Hotel opened, we've been spoilt for choice when it comes to having some of Japan's finest brews. Think you can make the crowd swoon with your vocals? Flaunt your talent at this social open mike event on the rooftop of Tampines 1, organized by local social enterprise "Originals Only Open Mike" (or "OOOM" for short). Indie singer-songwriter Dru Chen will be performing too. Nov 5

Back To The Future fans, dress up as Marty McFly or Dr. Emmett Brown (or any of the other characters) and head to The Projector, which will be screening the first two films this weekend (and the next) with an on-going bingo session held throughout the marathon. Nov 5

The iconic Singapore Improvement Trust (SIT) flats at Dakota Crescent will be gone come Dec 31. Join in this unique neighborhood trail, which includes a guided tour to some of the new homes (at Cassia Crescent) of the current Dakota Crescent residents. Nov 5

PARTY
SO Sofitel is hosting their last pool party of the year before the rainy season really gets going, with Ben Pound (owner of Koh in Bali) headlining the party, along with other DJs like Maurice Simon, Amy Dabbs. Dig into the barbecued food and down it with some cocktails, beers or Taittinger Champagne. Nov 5

Circular Spectacular is going to be a huge street carnival at Boat Quay, with art installations by artists like SKL0 and Indigoism, live music by Masia One and The Reggae Remedy, and other fringe activities. Nov 5

FILM

If you didn't manage to catch the screening of Dheepan at The Projector, there'll be another one during the Singapore Writers Festival. The Palme d’Or winning film directed by acclaimed French director Jacques Audiard tells the story of an ex Tamil Tiger, a young woman and a little girl who pose as a family to escape the Sri Lankan civil war and begin a life together in a dangerous banlieu of Paris. Stay on for a post-show dialogue with the film’s lead actor, Shobasakthi. Nov 6

WELLNESS
Nature it up this weekend and join the Amazing Trekkers Club on a trail on Pulau Ubin to get a feel of what Singapore was like back in the 60s, and then climb up to the island's highest peak on Puaka Hill to take in the breathtaking view. Lunch, snacks and refreshing towels will be provided. Nov 6

*SCAPE will be setting up a horror house based on a true, horrific story at Museum of Horrors VI: The Doll Factory. A doll maker kept his family members “alive” by killing them and turning them into dolls.
