Welcome the new month with a number of Oktoberfest festivals, markets and exhibitions.

October’s here, which means we’re that much closer to the Christmas and New Year holidays. But for now, there’s a smorgasbord of Oktoberfest festivals, markets to shop at and exhibitions to check out.

Erdinger Oktoberfest

PARTY
The new Montreux Jazz Cafe hosts Tropical Explosion, this time with afro-house DJ and producer Boddhi Satva. Check out his unique blend of raw African music fused with soulful house and tribal beats in his first and only appearance in Southeast Asia. Sep 30

MARKET
Check out Gallery & Co's Pasar Malam edition of their monthly Block Party series, where you can rummage through items from brands like Kitsune, Pubumesu, Baggu and more, which offer up to 70% off. Once you're done, it's time to get your moves on as Poptart's Adrian Wee brings with him a night of house and indie disco beats. Sep 30

PARTY
This edition of Cato's Leftbank series features Wahono, a music producer hailing from Jakarta, Indonesia, who'll be bringing with him his own brand of house music. Sep 30

COMEDY
Time to tickle your funny bone as the annual Kings and Queen of Comedy Asia returns to the Esplanade Theatre. Now in its seventh year, watch six stand-up comedians who go all out with no holds barred with their comedic antics. Sep 30-Oct 1

PARTY
Party like it's the 1990s for at Harry's two-night 24th anniversary celebrations. Also, all proceeds from the event will go to Happy People Helping People Foundation's campaign, "Meal Funds for Box Collectors". Sep 30-Oct 1

FESTIVAL
The 100 Bands Festival is now going on their third weekend at 391A Tampines Road, with performances by Cashew Chemists, Plainsunset, Pleasantry and more. Sep 30-Oct 2

FESTIVAL
It's the 17th year that Paulaner Brahaus Singapore is holding Oktoberfest at its Millenia Walk outlet, complete with 6000 liters of freshly-brewed Oktoberfest Bier, a special menu prepared by executive chef Klaus Lukarsch and modern Bavarian tunes by Scharivari Sextett, a band from Munich. FESTIVAL
Parkroyal on Pickering is having their own Oktoberfest event at Lime on weekdays from 6-9pm, with unlimited servings of Tiger Beer and German classics like Erdinger Weissbier and the dunkel version. More info here. Through Oct 2

FESTIVAL
Erdinger's Oktoberfest is back for another cycle of limited edition brews and tasty bites. A highlight this year is the unique Erdinger Barcycle, which is basically a mobile bar counter that will roam around Suntec City this month and two other locations next month. Through Oct 2

DRINK
Singapore will be celebrating Japan's Sake Day for the third year, with activities taking place simultaneously both here and in Japan. Join in the festivities at Sentosa Golf Club and enjoy more than 20 brands of sake. Oct 1

FESTIVAL
Singaporean singer/songwriters like Tay Kewei, Charlie Lim, LEW and Disco Hue will be performing at Starker Beer's first music carnival. Oct 1

PARTY
It’s round two of Mattblacc and Meatliquor’s Peachfuzz—have a good ol' burger and beer with nostalgic R&B, hip hop and dancehall tunes from the 90s that'll hit you right in the feels. Oct 1

WELLNESS
The Pink Ribbon Walk is aimed to raise public awareness of breast cancer, to show support to the survivors and also raise funds for Breast Cancer Foundation as well. Take a brisk walk abreast one another clad in pink. Ticket prices starts from $40. Oct 1

FESTIVAL
If you feel like staying out late to celebrate Oktoberfest, head over to Resorts World Sentosa, where they'll be having their first Oktoberfest all the way till 2am. Of course there'll be a buffet of schnitzel, sauerkraut and gourmet bratwurst to munch on. Play some beer pong while grooving to the tunes of German band Ois Easy. Oct 1

FESTIVAL
Singapore will never run out of spaces to do yoga; fancy studios, rooftops and open, public areas have all been recent venues. Add to that the beaches of Sentosa. All-day yoga festival Soulscape is returning to Tanjong Beach in Sentosa with a full day of yoga, meditation, dance, fitness classes and more. Oct 1

MARKET
Open Farm Community is back with its sixth Social Market. Among the list of vendors are SoapLah, who make their own cold-pressed soaps, Flashjuice, serving up juices with traditional Chinese herbs and Kerbside Gourmet. Oct 1-2

WORKSHOP
It's your last chance to blow off some steam by flipping a table. Part of The Affective Workspace, conducted by multidisciplinary experience design studio Chemistry, will explore the emotions in and around the the workspace environment, and Flip Table has been the exhibition's runaway hit. Through Oct 2

THEATRE
Catch the new iteration of The Malay Man and His Chinese Father, which was first staged as part of The Necessary Stage’s M1 Singapore Fringe Festival 2015. It tells the story of a Malay Man taking care of his dying Chinese Father, hoping that the identity of his mother will be revealed before his father’s final breath. Through Oct 2

FESTIVAL
Brotzeit Vivocity is decking out its interior with traditional blue and white checks and bringing in some live German-style entertainment. Devour their Oktoberfest Platter which includes oven-roasted pork knuckles and beer-infused Bavarian honey ribs. Then wash it all down with their iconic once-a-year brew, Spatenbräu Oktoberfest Ur-Märzen. Through Oct 2

THEATRE
One of Broadway and West End's most celebrated musicals has returned to our shores. The colorful fantasy world of Wicked tells the story of Wizard of Oz witches, Elphaba and Galinda, and their opposing outlooks. Get your tickets to enjoy this incredible production before the season ends. Through Oct 30

DANCE
Daytime drinking at Labrador Park's Training Shed has long been gone but Kult Kafe's Sunday on the Hill has proven time and time again to be an excellent place to enjoy the same kind of vibes, music and food. This time, they're teaming up with Salsa Under The Stars for a special Latin dance edition. Oct 2

ART
Redsea Gallery is exhibition the collaborative works of art by renowned Surrealist artist Salvador Dali and his publisher, Pierre Argillet. Check out this rare collection of over 100 original etchings, watercolors, tapestries and porcelain plates, some of which were inspired by Argillet. Through Oct 5

FESTIVAL
The annual Archifest is back, with a big pavillion at Raffles Place Park, a slew of special events and, our favorite, an all-new series of Architours, guided tours through public, institutional and residential buildings done by top architectural firms. Through Oct 9

EXHIBITION
Photojournalist Wong Maye-E showcases some of her photographs taken in North Korea. Titled "North of the DMZ", the exhibition will see images of impeccable state parades, citizens going about their daily lives and more. Through Oct 15

FOOD
There’s a whole bunch of meat offerings from all around the world at The Carvery’s Great Meat Feast, with highlights like the Aomori rice beef from Japan, Cape Grim beef from Tasmania and a variety of roast chicken, pork knuckles and lamb. End the feast on a sweet note with their their spiced apple crumble, English trifle and chocolate fudge cake. Through Oct 22

EXHIBITION
One of highlights of the on-going Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF) is Li Zhensheng's "Witness: The Archive of Cultural Revolution", an exhibition that showcases over 80 of Li's images taken during the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution between 1966 to 1976. Through Oct 29

EXHIBITION
A painting focused group exhibition out at art studio and gallery Libitum on East Coast Road brings together painters who have emigrated from the former USSR. In Immigrant Arts Exhibition, expect bold colors and brushstrokes and dream-like imagery in this collection Through Oct 30

FESTIVAL
Universal Studios Singapore is pulling all the stops for its sixth edition of the Halloween Horror Nights, with a record number of haunted houses, thrilling rides and more, all circling the central theme of familiar Singaporean folk tales such as the ghastly Pontianak and the creepy Old Changi Hospital. Tickets start from $65. Through Oct 31

MARKET
Head over to Kult Gallery, where more than 20 artists will turn the space into a record store reminiscent of the 1982 American coming-of-age film, Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Remixed album art, deconstructed vinyl and installations inspired by David Bowie will add to the 80s vibe. Through Oct 31
