The R2-D2 plane is finally here. Here's what else you can do at Changi Airport
Star Wars fans, take note.
A month ago, we were a little excited because an R2-D2 plan was making its way to Changi Airport. Now that it's finally here, hardcore Star Wars fans can do what they do best—have a meltdown at the departure halls.
Although the lucky draw to get on board this plane is over, there are other things to do, according to Channel News Asia. You can view an X-wing fighter at Terminal 3 and a TIE fighter at Terminal 2. Both jets are located at the departure halls. There are also costumes to dress up like a rebel pilot and sit in the X-wing fighter for a photo op. Imperial stormtroopers and X-Wing pilots will make an appearance on Saturdays at 4pm.
Language nerds can also learn how to say trademark phrases from the franchise in 10 languages from a C-3PO droid. Next to it are models of the Millennium Falcon and the Star Destroyer.
There are Star Wars merchandise on sale from Nov 17. This includes eight limited-edition toys, which can only be purchased at $6 after a minimum spend of $70 at the airport (or $150 in the transit area). Expect Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Yoda and R2-D2, to name a few.
You can bet Star Wars fans will be at the airport in less than 12 parsecs.
