If you've been to Siam during the past couple of weeks, you've probably noticed a sign with a prophetic message "The End" sticking out of the former site of Siam Theatre. Clearly seen from the BTS Siam platform, the sign is part of an ongoing viral project by Proxy, a mysterious art collective who will be having a show at WTF & Opposite later this year. Here, we chat with one of Proxy's members to find out more about the project.

So, who are Proxy?
We canʼt tell you.

How did this project come about and how did you get involved?
After having spent an unhealthy amount of time over the last year at the Siam Theatre site, plotting and sketching, we realised once the building was flattened, that even as a vacant lot that the auditorium was still there and so was the audience.

The project seems very Banksy. Would you say thatʼs where the influence came from?
Thanks. Yes and no.

What kind of feedback have you got so far?
The most immediate kind, vandalism, which is almost as flattering as censorship.

Apart from the message “The End,” what other surprises have you got planned?
To reveal the rest of the plot, because, of course, as Godard pointed out, “A story should have a beginning, a middle, and an end – but not necessarily in that order.”

What do you hope to get out of this project?
Weʼre more interested in what other people will get out of it, especially the bystanders on the BTS platform.
