Highlights from Photo Bangkok 2015
Here’s a roundup of the main exhibitions opening this week as part of the fest, which launches on Jul 29.

PAUSE
Dates: Opens Jul 29 at 6:30pm. Through Nov 1
A group exhibition by artists from around Southeast Asia. All were created under different themes but selected for this exhibition under the idea of “pausing” to adjust to the pace of the new economic, social and cultural climate. Curated by Ark Fongsmut.
KIOSK
Dates: Opens on Jul 29. Through Oct 4
Bangkok-based artists Liam Morgan, Surachead Sinlapabunlang,Francois Langella and Jeff Gompertz are invited to occupy the pop-up space to present their experimental, mixed-media works using photography. Curated by Nikan Wasinondh.
RGB INSTALLATION
Dates: Opens Jul 29. Interactive workshop takes place every weekends throughout Aug.
A traveling installation of a roomsized camera obscura, giving the audience an experience of what it’s like to be inside an actual camera, with a built-in darkroom.
LENS CULTURE AWARD 2014
Dates: Opens on Jul 29. Projections from 6-9pm every weekends throughout Aug.
Thirty-one contemporary photographs by 31 artists from 18 countries across six continents, selected by an international jury will be projected on the exterior wall of the BACC at 6-9pm.
GERMAN PHOTOBOOK AWARD 2015
Dates: Opens Jul 29 at 6:30pm. Through Sep 20.
Twenty-three gold and silver award-winning titles on conceptual art, history/theory of photography and coffee table books go on display. Provided by Hardcover: the Art Bookshop and the Goethe-Institut Thailand.
