Bangkok Undergound Film Festival is a new event that aims to provide a platform for independent and DIY filmmakers and students whose work may fall outside commercial considerations.

The first open-air screening is set to take place at the upcoming arts and craft fest Noise Market 5 (Nov 21-22) at Museum Siam, with a bigger showcase scheduled to follow at a special location in early 2016.

Festival organizers, including one of the guys behind arty Surasak bar Jam, have put the call out for submissions, inviting "the bizarre, the specific, the confronting and the abstract." The theme is open, entry is free and submitted works only need to be under 20 minutes in length.

Submissions can be made in person at Jam or via email: b608b608@gmail.com (Thai) or dhyan.ho@gmail.com (English). For more specifics, see here. The deadline is Oct 24 and the program will be announced on Nov 7.
