Lakorn sor, a style of Northern Thai folk play narrated in a traditional dialect, is not exactly well known; in fact, it’s not even that popular up North. Nonetheless acting school A2S (188, Somdej Chao Phraya Rd.) are bringing it to Bangkok in the form of Jumpa Lanna on Mar 7-9. Starring seminal Lanna artist Jumpa Sanprom and directed by Phatarakrit Duangsanit, the play is said to explore the roots of human life. It might sound intense, but knowing the nature of lakorn sor, you can actually expect lots of fun and a lighthearted narrative. Admission is free and limited to 30 seats per round. Reservations at 02-116-3715.
