Transfix presents Paul Van Dyk with Hong (Oct 3)

After playing all around the world for 20 years, trance legend Paul Van Dyk will be spinning the decks at Zouk. The well-known DJ has also garnered numerous accolades, such as being named the world’s number one DJ twice and Mixman’s Man of the Year, alongside multiple Grammy nominations.

Halloween Horror Nights 4 (Oct 3-Nov 1)

It's that time of the year again to get freaked out at USS' Halloween Horror Nights. This year's edition will see four new haunted houses, four new scare zones, and of course, the many different deranged, creepy characters lurking around the park grounds.

Singapore International Photography Festival 2014 (Oct 3-Nov 30)

The Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF) returns for its fourth edition, spanning over nine weekends with more than 800 works. Focusing around the theme "The Infinity", this year's works highlight the boundless creative nature of photography, with contributions by 105 photographers from around the world.

Canvas and Darker Than Wax presents STWO (Oct 4)

Indie nightlife venue and arts space Canvas present their first official music collaboration since the club's launch. The line-up includes French producer STWO, who first wowed club-goers with his three track debut EP, and Cosa Nostra, a musical duo known for their deep grooves and beats across multiple musical genres.

Play Live: 2014 (Oct 4)

Organized by Singapore-based Ideology Concept, this event will excite music lovers with a lineup of emerging international acts. Expect to rock out to music from 2013 X-Factor winner Dami Im and popular YouTube artists Daniela Andrade and Mike Tompkins.

Oktoberfest Asia 2014 (Oct 8-11)

One of the island's biggest beer fests is back with lots of Bavarian booze, pub grub and live music. Expect microbrews from the likes of local Paulaner Brauhaus among commercial beers like Weihenstephan, Schneider Weisse and Weltenburger Kloster.

da:ns Festival 2014 (Oct 9-19)

The annual dance extravaganza returns this year with a slew of world-class choreographers and international acts. Highlights include Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake, legendary flamenco dancer María Pagés’ I, Carmen and Wayne McGregor's Far.

Clarke Quay Presents: Oktoberfest 2014 (Oct 10-11)

Indulge in this year's Oktoberfest celebrations at Clarke Quay, where you can enjoy beer and bratwurst to your heart's content. Be sure to check out the German-themed food & Erdinger Beer kiosks, dishing out crispy pork knuckles, bratwust and mash and German gourmet sausages.

Para//el Presents Paul Ritch With MixMag Allstars and Adrian Wee (Oct 10)

Zouk welcomes special guest Paul Ritch, known for his harmonic Techno sounds with a surprising touch of emotive soul. Ritch's creative musical style has earned him live performances in prestigious nightclubs like Space and Pacha in Ibiza and Rex Club in Paris. 

Zouk Sound System presents Bassjackers with Hong (Oct 11)

Dutch DJs The Bassjackers make their Singapore debut, having released a solid stream of remixes that have garnered massive international attention. The duo shot to fame after their dancefloor hit "Mush Mush" was picked up by Tiesto, and rose to become one the biggest club hits of 2011.

Illumi Nation Singapore (Oct 11-12)

Asia's first ever glow in the dark paint party promises to be a crazy night. Dance to DJs like Bingo Players, Dada Life, and Martin Solveig, or simply soak in the atmosphere as thousands of party animals light up Siloso Beach.

Perspectives Film Festival 2014 (Oct 16-19)

The Perspective Film Festival returns for its seventh year, this time centering on the theme of displacement. Films being screened include Salaam Bombay! (1988) by Mira Nair, Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2001) by John Cameron Mitchell, and Australian cult favorite Walkabout (1971) by Nicolas Roeg.

BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore (Oct 17-26)

The prestigious Women Tennis Association (WTA) Finals will take place in Singapore for the first time ever this year, with stars like Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova and Simona Halep battling it out for the record US$6.5m prize. Also in town are legends like Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert and Billie Jean King, who will appear at exhibition matches and other thrilling activities for fans during the period.

SuperBrunch: The Voyage (Oct 19)

The bi-annual vintage Champagne brunch is back, this time with an international "Roaring Twenties" theme. Decadence is the name of the game with a dedicated caviar bar, a fresh seafood station, as well as fondues, Moroccan tajines and Japanese delicacies. If that doesn't take your fancy, tuck in to options like oak-smoked foie gras, ceviche, quesadillas and a hefty 70kg roasted wagyu beef leg.

Frozen (Oct 23-Nov 9)

Pangdemonium's latest production, which is a psychological thriller examining the themes of retribution, survival and hope, centers on three individuals whose lives are drawn together when a 10-year-old girl goes missing.

Mariah Carey (Oct 24)

Legendary songstress Mariah Carey will be in town to belt out some of her greatest hits, alongside new singles from her fourteenth studio album, Me. I Am Mariah The Elusive Chanteuse.

SOULSCAPE (Oct 25)

SOULSCAPE is a one-of-a-kind yoga, dance and music festival that's sure to be a hit with health and fitness enthusiasts. Aside from Movement and yoga workshops, there will also be a night Yoga Rave, natural healing, therapy services and pop-up stores.

The Singapore Writers Festival (OCT 31-Nov 9)

One of Asia’s leading literary events, this 10 day celebration features talks and workshops with over 200 literary talents, including big names like fantasy writer Raymond E. Feist, notorious feminist and social critic Naomi Wolf and literary stalwart Paul Theroux.
