There's a string of parties at Singapore Art Museum in January
Curator's tours, flea markets, dance parties and more
We've previously featured eight artsy events to head to in January, and here's another to add to the list--Singapore Art Week at SAM (the Singapore Art Museum). From Jan 15-24, there will be tours, parties, local bands and of course, a flea market. Here's what to look out for.
The tour Of Art and Architecture ($3) on Jan 16 and 23 brings you around to show the historical buildings of Singapore, while the multi-national blockbuster on show now, Time of Others, has a curator's tour ($20) on Jan 18, with Reuben Keehan from the Queensland Art Gallery.
If art's not your thing, there's the Sentosa Cove x SAM party (Jan 22) from 8pm, where DJs like Oliver Osborne, Aldrin (who was at Zoukout this year) and Mr. Has will play dance-y house tracks. There are some ocal bands playing on Jan 23 at 7pm, with The Quartermasters (playing alternate rock), Giants Must Fall (with some ethereal-sounding tracks) and The MadHatter Project (the Asian version of the Dresden Dolls).
Lastly, there will be a SAM x The Local People Art Week Market on Jan 24 from 11am-7pm, where local brands will hawk their wares.
