Get your cameras out for this massive light installation at Gardens By The Bay
And we thought we saw it all at last month’s Singapore Night Festival.
We had a lot of fun gawking at all the light installations and project mapping exhibitions during the Singapore Night Festival two weeks ago, but there’s another light installation in town that’s part of the on-going Singapore International Festival of the Arts, and it’s huge.
Aptly titled 720º, this structure at The Meadow @ Gardens by the Bay is a perfect circle that spans 18 meters in diameter and sees 5,600 silicone cords hanging from a height of eight meters. These rods then act as an interactive video screen that can be seen on both sides of the 360-degree stage, thus the name.
You may have missed the Brian Tan production that went with the opening earlier this month, but the structure will continue to screen other magical visuals like a huge Amazon-like waterfall, a riot of colors zooming around and more by artists like Javier Mariscal, Kutiman and more, every day between 7 to 11pm from now until Sep 17.
