And among the line-up of critically-acclaimed films is one about big-deal Swedish director Ingmar Bergman.

Catch the inaugural Swedish Film Festival organized by The Projector, The Embassy of Sweden and The Swedish Institute from Jan 28-31, which will be screened at The Projector

First off, the festival opens with Force Majeure (Jan 28), which is about how an avalanche challenges the dynamics of a family on a skiing vacation in the French Alps—the film won the Jury Prize in Un Certain Regard in the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. Other highlights include Trespassing Bergman (Jan 30), in which famous filmmakers like Ang Lee and Zhang Yimou talk about the legacy of famous Swedish film director Ingmar Bergman and how his vision has inspired them.

Also worth watching is The Reunion (Jan 30) by controversial artist, actor and director Anna Odell (she tried to stage a suicide attempt on film once), who confronts her ex-schoolmates about not inviting her to a class reunion and in turn, explores the themes of bullying and unhealthy societal hierarchies. There are also short films such as Swedish MeatballsAstrid and Booo on show from Jan 30-31.

Interested? Tickets are $10 per person.
